Your Father In Heaven

Father’s Day is tomorrow!  Take a minute and think about the fact that GOD has become your Heavenly Father if you’ve put your faith in Jesus Christ, His Son!  WOW!  That means there is no identity that you should let supersede that identity of being His child.  

Romans 8:15  “So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves.  Instead, you have received God’s Spirit when He adopted you as His own children!  Now we call Him, ‘Abba, Father.’” NLT 

I honestly believe that this concept is at the core of the redeemed life.  I think it may be the most important concept about God that we need to embrace.  So many other truths come to light after receiving this truth - God wants to be your Father!
John 1:12  “But to all who did receive Him, who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God..” 

When we believed in Jesus’ power to forgive us and make us righteous, we were adopted by God!  He signed the papers.  He put a seat at the table for us.  He already had the picture you drew hanging on His fridge!  He does more than give you fridge-rights.  He gives you His rights!  He calls you an heir, a rightful, family recipient of the Kingdom just like Jesus!  WOW!  What a powerful truth to embrace.  If you’re feeling discouraged today, maybe you need reminded that you have a Father in Heaven that you can call upon.  You can go to Him and ask Him for anything.  You need wisdom?  He’s got it.  You need $20 bucks?  He’s got it.  (Albeit not for “the movies”) You need a fresh start?  He’s got the grace you need for that too!  You need encouragement?  He’s got it.  Go to the Father today.  If your relationship is broken, make an effort to repair it.  His door is always open and the light is always on.
